- Multi-point obstruction testing. We check several possible mounting locations, not just the first spot that looks convenient. Roof edges, poles and ground options are all compared before we commit.
- Full-season thinking, not just today's sky. Deciduous trees and shelterbelts common on Bay of Plenty and Waikato blocks look clear in winter and block signal once they leaf out. We plan around what your sky will look like in six months, not just today.
- Structural, not cosmetic, mounting. Fixings go into rafters or structural framing, not just roof sheeting. On corrugated roofs, penetrations go through the ridges, sealed properly, never through the valleys where water sits.

- Ballast blocks or timber used to weigh down a mount on a metal roof, trapping moisture underneath and starting corrosion.
- Budget screws that hold fine inland but corrode within months on an exposed coastal roof.
- Cable run through a gap in a window frame as a "temporary" fix that's still there a year later.
- A mount that isn't quite rigid enough, so it sways slightly in the wind and drops the connection during exactly the weather you need it most.
